What is Assam D.El.Ed Course?
The Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) is a professional teacher training programme designed for candidates who want to teach at the elementary and primary school level. The course focuses on child psychology, teaching methodology, classroom management, language learning, mathematics education, environmental studies, educational technology and teaching practices.
After successfully completing the two-year course, candidates become eligible for various teaching opportunities and can further appear for Teacher Eligibility Tests (TET) and other teaching-related recruitment examinations.
Assam D.El.Ed Admission 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Before submitting the online application form, candidates must ensure that they satisfy all eligibility requirements prescribed by SCERT Assam.
Permanent Residency
Only permanent residents of Assam are eligible to apply for admission into the D.El.Ed course.
Candidates may be required to produce valid residential proof during admission and document verification.
Educational Qualification
Applicants must have passed Higher Secondary (HS) Examination or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or Council.
Candidates must secure at least 50% aggregate marks excluding marks obtained in extra, optional or fourth subjects.
Relaxation in qualifying marks is available for reserved category candidates as per government norms.
